In the traffic accident that occurred on Friday, 2 October, at around 15:00 on the D121 state road in the village of Murter, a motorcyclist died. The 74-year-old man was driving a motorcycle with Šibenik registration plates.
The details of the serious traffic accident were released by the Šibenik-Knin Police Directorate. According to their data, the accident occurred on the D121 state road, in which a 74-year-old motorcyclist died.
The investigation determined that the 74-year-old, driving a motorcycle with Croatian registration plates, did not adjust his speed to the conditions on the road when exiting a sharp, blind right-hand bend on an incline. Driving too fast, he was unable to align the movement of the motorcycle with the road surface and the visibility of the bend in time.
Due to the excessive speed, the motorcycle crossed into the opposite traffic lane, where it collided directly with the front of a car with Croatian registration plates. The vehicle was being driven by a 65-year-old woman.
The 74-year-old driver died from the injuries sustained. The incident was overseen by the deputy county state attorney in Šibenik.
The police will submit a special report to the relevant state attorney's office, and an investigation into the circumstances of this serious traffic accident is ongoing.
