Following an incident involving vehicles last week, the question of regulating illegal races was raised in the Croatian Parliament. This topic has become relevant in response to increasingly frequent cases of dangerous behaviour on roads, prompting debate on the need for stricter measures to ensure road safety.
During the debate, Boška Ban, a representative from the HDZ, expressed concern regarding the current state of road safety. She highlighted that particular attention must be paid to the new safety challenges emerging on roads, stressing the need for immediate action to prevent future accidents. Her comments sparked a debate on how to more effectively curb dangerous practices on the roads, including illegal street racing, which poses a serious risk to all road users.
The Minister of the Interior, Davor Božinović, faces the challenge of balancing freedom of movement with the need for stricter traffic control. Although measures have already been taken, the question remains as to how they can be further strengthened to ensure maximum protection for citizens. The debate in the Parliament highlighted the need for continuous monitoring of the situation and for adapting legal frameworks to new challenges in traffic.
