A meeting dedicated to the possibilities of slowing down traffic on the county road near the Donji Vidovec Local School and the newly built Kutak sreće Kindergarten was held in the premises of the Donji Vidovec Municipality. The gathering brought together representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the County Road Administration, the project designer, the municipal mayor and municipal councillors.
The topic of the meeting was traffic safety on the section near the school and kindergarten, with the initiative launched by municipal councillors who raised the issue of traffic safety on the aforementioned section at a recent session of the Municipal Council. Their aim was to prompt concrete solutions for reducing vehicle speed in the zone where children, parents and pupils move daily.
An amendment and supplement to the traffic study for the area of the Donji Vidovec Municipality was agreed at the meeting. This document will cover the possibilities for additional traffic calming on the route near the school and kindergarten, thereby creating conditions for safer traffic flow in the immediate vicinity of educational institutions.
The goal is to find appropriate traffic solutions that will contribute to reducing vehicle speed and increasing the safety of children, parents, pupils and all other road users. In addition to the study amendment, discussions covered the practical aspects of implementing measures on the ground, in accordance with regulations and actual possibilities.
The Donji Vidovec Municipality will continue its cooperation with the competent institutions so that the agreed measures are developed and implemented in line with regulations and on-site possibilities. This is intended to ensure that traffic solutions are aligned with safety requirements and meet the needs of the local community.
