Police officers from the Đurđevac Police Station have received a report from a 28-year-old woman from the wider Đurđevac area, alleging that a criminal offence of 'computer fraud' had been committed against her. The woman, who is the victim, filed the report, and police are conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the case.

According to the report, the victim received an SMS message on her mobile device on Thursday, 15 October. At the time of receiving the message, she believed it to be from the bank where she holds an account, deeming the message credible.

The unknown perpetrator then deceived her, requesting that she enter the details of her bank card via a link provided, with the explanation that this was necessary to continue using her banking services. The victim complied, after which several hundred euros were withdrawn from her bank account without authorisation.

Officers from the Đurđevac Police Station are conducting an investigation with the aim of identifying the perpetrator and establishing all relevant facts related to the incident. Police remind the public to exercise caution when receiving suspicious messages and not to share their banking details via links received in SMS messages.
