The Zadar Police are investigating three separate cases of fraud related to accommodation bookings. The investigation was launched after the relevant authorities received reports from victims who were misled during the payment process.
In all three cases, the victims made their payments via various online platforms. The money was paid with the intention of securing accommodation for their planned holidays, with the victims believing in the existence and availability of the listed properties.
Upon arriving at the specified addresses, the victims realised they had been defrauded. At the locations they visited, they found no signs of the reserved accommodation, nor any building that matched the description.
They discovered that the accommodation at the specified address did not exist, prompting them to report the crime. The police are establishing the circumstances under which the incidents occurred to identify the perpetrators and the manner in which the frauds were carried out.
