The mayor of Sisak, Domagoj Orlić, the deputy mayor, Sanja Mišović, and the director of Sisak Water, Igor Valeš, have inspected the works on the construction of a new water supply and sewer network in the settlement of Zibel, in the streets of Augusta Cesarca and Ivan Gundulić.
The investment is worth almost €3.4 million, specifically €3,350,668.84. The project includes the construction of 3.1 km of new water supply and 1.4 km of sewer network, which will improve the quality and safety of water supply and drainage for around 1,600 residents in this part of Sisak.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the 2021–2027 Territorial Programme. The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds provides 85 per cent of the funding, while the remaining 15 per cent is provided by Sisak Water.
Mayor Orlić stated that the investment in Zibel is not an isolated measure, but part of a wider cycle of investment in water supply and sewer infrastructure in the area of Sisak. The greatest losses in the water network in the entire city are in this location, where 26 pipe bursts have been recorded in the last three years. Cesarceva and Gundulićeva streets were a priority for this reason.
In addition to the works in Zibel, a new sewer network is being built in Zeleni Brijeg and Pogorje, while in Jazbenik a new water supply and sewer network is being built. In total, the investments are worth over €5.5 million.
