On Saturday, 12 September, the 6th Ivan Todorić Memorial will take place in Valbandon. This event is held on the occasion of Police Day and the anniversary of the death of police officer Ivan Todorić, with the aim of honouring the fallen colleague and promoting sport and healthy lifestyles.
The race starts at 10:00 at the former police camp in Valbandon, where the finish line is also located. Participants will move from Valbandon along the coast towards the Štinjan fortifications. Competitors can choose between two routes: the main race of 11.3 kilometres and a recreational route of 2.2 kilometres. The competition is divided into two categories: for members of the public and for police officers.
All proceeds from the race will go exclusively to the Police Foundation. Entry fees are paid directly to the foundation's account in IBAN HR0723900011100332922. A confirmation of payment must be presented when collecting the start number. The entry fee is a minimum of €15 for adults with early registration by 31 July, while after that date the cost rises to a minimum of €20 for the event. Children up to 14 years of age pay €5 regardless of the registration phase.
Entries are accepted via the online form provided by the organisers until 8 September. Active and retired personnel of the Ministry of the Interior must, when registering, specify MUP as their club and include their departmental unit or the designation 'retired' in their registration. The organisers have also prepared a special sports and entertainment programme for children, with each child participating in the recreational route receiving a gift.
