The Government on Tuesday gave consent to the Fund for the Protection of the Environment to conclude a contract for the removal and disposal or recovery of improperly deposited waste in Samobor. The work was awarded to the company Eko-Flor Plus from Oroslavje, and the value of the contract is 2.4 million euros with VAT. The contract is concluded for a period of 12 months.
The Fund was also given consent to conclude a contract with the regional centre for waste management – Špaglje for the project of building transfer stations in Kutina, Novska, Pakrac, Požega and Slavonski Brod. The estimated cost of this project is 12,855,092 euros without VAT, and the Fund will co-finance up to 1.9 million euros without VAT. The Fund's co-financing accounts for 15 per cent of the estimated and justified costs of the project for the Fund.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition has been given consent to assume obligations for the project which will build a public water supply and drainage system and a wastewater treatment plant for the agglomeration of Vir. The total estimated value of the project is 213.93 million euros with VAT, and the obligations assumed relate to state budget funds in the period from 2027 to 2030 in a total amount of 130.83 million euros.
The Plitvice Lakes National Park has been given consent to conclude a contract for public procurement for the reconstruction and equipping of an existing building of a catering nature, the Vučnica bistro, in the area of the Park. The selected bidder is ALU MARKOM-COM GOSPOĐINCI, and the value of the offer for the work is 2.08 million euros without VAT.
The Government has also accepted the report on the implementation of the Constitutional Act on the Rights of National Minorities for 2024 and the report of the Council of National Minorities on the expenditure of funds allocated in the State Budget for 2024. During 2024, more than 81 million euros were spent on various activities related to the implementation of the Act, which represents an increase compared to 2023 by 14.5 per cent. In the state budget for 2024, funds were allocated for subsidies and programmes for the realisation of the cultural autonomy of national minorities in an amount of more than 10 million euros, which is an increase of 25.2 per cent compared to 2023.
The Council of National Minorities funded a total of 1,250 projects of cultural autonomy. This includes 87 information, 87 publishing, 468 amateur cultural and 608 cultural event programmes. A total of 106 associations were co-financed as direct beneficiaries of state budget subsidies and their 145 members. During 2024, the Council submitted a request for the recovery of funds in an amount of more than 107,000 euros, which were returned to the state budget.
The Government has also accepted patronage over the holding of the 30th anniversary of the All-Croatian Sports Competition of Veterans of the Homeland War (SŠN IDOR), which is organised by HVIDR. The competition will take place from 9 to 11 October 2026 in Mali Lošinj, with the financial support of the Ministry of Veterans. A total of 1,000 athletes will participate – Croatian war veterans of the Homeland War, who will compete in 10 disability sports disciplines and 25 sports competition categories.
