The mayor of Senj participated in the Days of Regional Development and EU Funds, and on 21 October 2026 formally accepted the award on behalf of the city. The 'From Source to Sea' project is jointly implemented by Coca-Cola, Jutarnji list, Konzum and the Association of Cities. Senj secured victory in the small towns category, winning a prize of €15,000.
The greatest credit for the victory goes to the volunteers. Around 120 of them took part in the cleanup action in the Senjska Draga area. This is an area of exceptional importance to the city of Senj, which has numerous sources of drinking water.
The prize will be dedicated to planting trees and greening public spaces in the city. Tree planting is planned for November, after which a ceremonial finale of the 'From Source to Sea' project will be held.
