The remaining agreements on the use of heritage rent revenues for the restoration and development of buildings in the protected historic core were signed in the office of the Senj mayor, bringing the total value of this year's programme to €138,000.
The financial support was granted to all 17 projects that met the criteria of the public call published in March. A total of 22 applications were received, but five did not meet the required standards following an administrative review.
The municipal budget initially allocated €60,000 for the programme, which allowed for the signing of agreements with six beneficiaries. As the initial funds were insufficient for all eligible applications, the city increased its budget allocation, and agreements were subsequently signed with the remaining 11 beneficiaries.
The mayor, Željko Tomljanović, highlighted that this year's call had generated the highest interest to date. The signing was attended by the president of the City Council, Vice Nekić, the municipal department heads, and the project manager.
The funds are designated for the restoration of facades, roofs, and other parts of buildings within the protected area. The city is thus continuing to invest in the preservation of cultural heritage, benefiting both residents and the many visitors.
