The incident occurred last week in the area of the bus station in Rovinj, where the bus driver was the victim of a physical attack. The attacker identified himself as Zoran Grgić, who later publicly admitted to striking the public transport driver. Grgić stated that he was willing to accept full responsibility for his actions, while simultaneously highlighting that the public was not aware of all the circumstances preceding the physical altercation.
On the other hand, the bus driver firmly rejected all claims by taxi driver Zoran Grgić regarding the existence of previous encounters. He stated that he had never seen the person who attacked him in his life, nor had he had any contact with him prior to the incident in question. According to his account, the stories about previous disputes had no basis in truth or law.
The bus driver further clarified that during his professional career he had not had conflicts with taxi drivers, and that he carried out his duties in accordance with traffic regulations and the specific conditions of work at bus stations. He considers the accusations of previous altercations to be unfounded and states that they do not reflect the reality of his professional practice.
Despite this, Zoran Grgić put forward a number of claims regarding the motives for the attack. He claimed that the bus driver had warned him several times previously about stopping the bus and blocking the taxi. Grgić stated that the driver had insulted him and called for a physical fight, and that the conflict culminated after the driver insulted his mother.
Grgić also described the course of the physical altercation, noting that the bus driver had retaliated by kicking him in the groin after the first punch. Although he described the provocation in detail, the taxi driver made it clear that he was not attempting to justify his actions, but was simply highlighting the overall context of the incident, which in his view was not known to the public.
