The traffic situation in the Konavle region remains heavily congested on Sunday morning, with no signs that the queues will ease in the near future. An entire lane through Konavle is permanently blocked, which drastically reduces the road's capacity and causes long vehicle queues. The situation became chaotic on Saturday and continues into the new day without significant changes in traffic density.
The queues stretch from the border all the way to the Dubrovnik airport, indicating the scale of the problem affecting key transport routes. At the Karasi border crossing, which serves as the exit from Croatia to Montenegro, the wait to leave the country is over 10 hours. This is an extremely long period of delay, placing additional strain on the infrastructure.
Due to the massive volume of vehicles, traffic on the DC8 route between Čilopi and the Karasi border crossing (section 29-30) is moving very slowly. Drivers are facing intermittent stoppages that further slow down movement, and it is expected that the queue will not clear quickly. Although traffic on the Vitaljina section is slightly more fluid compared to other parts, the congestion there remains significant.
