On 6 October 2026, an educational workshop on volunteering was held in the Great Council Chamber of Belišće, open to representatives of associations operating in the area. The workshop was held in the context of the International Year of the Volunteer for Sustainable Development.

The programme was moderated by Antonia Andrašek Barić, assistant to the head of the Department for Social Affairs and Civil Society, while the lecturer was Tena Anić, executive director of the Inkognito House. Anić introduced herself as a person with years of experience working with volunteers and a number of training courses for volunteer coordinators.

Representatives of nine associations from the area of Belišće participated in the workshop. The education covered the legal obligations of volunteer coordinators, the keeping of registers, and required forms, as well as examples of good practice in working with volunteers.

It was particularly noted that keeping records of volunteers can bring additional points in public tenders requiring confirmation of registered volunteers. This means that participants were introduced to the practical benefits of orderly administrative work, which relates not only to legal compliance but also to concrete funding opportunities.

Participants actively asked questions and exchanged experiences from their own practice during the workshop. They confirmed the importance of continuous education for the development of quality volunteer programmes in the local community.
