Activities under the 'Academy of Golden Years' project, conducted by the LiPa Palliative Care Team, continue at the Belišce Town Library and Reading Room. The project, which aims to promote active ageing and improve the quality of life for older citizens, has a value of 273,026.60 euros and includes 1,455 different activities during its implementation. These include IT and creative workshops, cultural events, physical exercises, quizzes, and social gatherings.
The first creative knitting and craft workshop was successfully held, with the next gathering scheduled for Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at 17:00 in the Belišce Library premises. The workshop will be led again by Ljerka Pavković, chairwoman of the Palijative tima LiPa, who previously introduced the project and the importance of activities focused on active and quality ageing to the participants. Suzana Zdunić, head of the 'Tu i tamo' library in Belišće, will assist in the realisation of the workshop.
The workshop is open to people over 55 years of age and retirees, with free entry. The first Belišce workshop demonstrated how creative activities can serve as a valuable stimulus for social interaction, conversation, and the exchange of experiences.
The Belišce Town Library and Reading House are inviting all interested individuals to join the new meeting.
