The Croatian Red Cross in Županja is implementing the 'Active Ageing in the Community' project, aimed at people aged 65 and over. The project is implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Gunja, within the framework of the 'Expansion of the network of social services' call, and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
The total value of the project is €229,711.36, and it will run for 30 months. The introductory conference was held last week, where the project's objectives and activities were presented.
The project covers the areas of Županja, Gunja, Černa, and Gradište, with all services provided to beneficiaries free of charge. Beneficiaries have the opportunity to participate in health-preventive and recreational activities, socialising, and creative content, while also receiving advisory and social support to exercise their rights.
The director of the Croatian Red Cross in Županja, Marija Dugalić, has invited people aged 65 and over to join the project, highlighting that the project's activities are being well received. The head of the daily activities and project team, Ana Vincetić, stated that through workshops, education, intergenerational activities, and the exchange of experiences, a sense of community is strengthened.
The call for participant inclusion is open throughout the duration of the project. A transport service has been organised on the route between Gunja and Županja, on specific days, with transport also available to Vinkovci. Beneficiaries also have access to individual advisory and social support.
