In the parish of St. George in Trnje, the first annual meeting of lectors within the LUX+ programme will take place on Wednesday, 30 September. The meeting will begin at 19:30 in the pastoral centre, under the theme 'The Word that first reads us'.
The aim of the meeting is to focus on the deeper preparation for the role of lector, emphasising that this service is not merely the correct and expressive reading of the text. Participants will work together with biblical texts and discuss the difference between reading a text and proclaiming the Word. There will also be practical steps for preparation before stepping up to the ambo.
The meeting takes place on the feast day of St Jerome, patron saint of translators, writers and biblical scholars. In the first part of the ecclesiastical year, a total of three meetings for lectors are planned. One of these will be held jointly with lectors from the parish of Prelog, focusing on diction, breathing, pronunciation and text interpretation with professional guidance.
On Sunday, 27 September 2026, the autumn fair of the Municipality of Mali Subotica will take place on the square in front of the House of Culture. The theme of the fair is the plum, and the selection of the best plum cake will take place there. The fair begins at 14:00.
Visitors will be able to purchase a variety of local handicrafts, sauces, honey and honey products. The Potočnica kindergarten will hold autumn workshops for children and parents, with a performance by the majorettes scheduled for 15:00. Following the performance, the best plum cake will be declared.
The Croatian association 'Vila Velebita' held its 16th Lička evening in the community centre in the suburban settlement of Sveti Đurač on Friday, 25 September. The event was supported by the mayor of Virovitica, Ivica Kirin, as well as representatives of the Croatian associations from Belišće, Bizovac, Slavonski Brod, Požega, Sisak and Slatina.
