The parish of St James the Apostle in Prelog is launching a series of monthly lectures titled 'The Believer in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Remaining Close to God and to One Another: Discussions on Faith, Family, and Communication'. The series of meetings is dedicated to questions of faith, family life, education, and communication in the era of rapid technological development.
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, 14 October, starting at 19:00, at the pastoral centre of Blessed Aloysius Stepinac in Prelog. The introductory lecture is titled 'Communication as the Space of Meeting and Meaning'.
The lecture will cover the themes of quality communication, mutual understanding, and the building of deeper relationships in a time when digital forms of connection are increasingly replacing face-to-face encounters. The cycle thus opens with a discussion on communication and education in the age of rapid technological advancement, as well as the importance of immediate togetherness.
Experts from the fields of communication studies, logotherapy, psychology, medicine, and educational sciences will deliver the lectures. The organisers stress that while artificial intelligence can be useful, it cannot replace the humanity and spiritual dimension of human beings, which form the foundation of faith, culture, and communal life.
The parish of St James invites all interested citizens, parents, educational professionals, young people, and believers to join the discussion on preserving key family and social values.
