The city of Županja has joined efforts to inform citizens about the Central Population Register (Središnji registar stanovništva), one of the key projects in the digital transformation of public administration in the Republic of Croatia. The aim is to familiarise citizens with the importance of accurate and up-to-date data and to encourage them to verify their own records in the register.
The Central Population Register consolidates data from official records and is intended to ensure a single, reliable and up-to-date database. This database will serve as the basis for exercising certain social and other rights of citizens from 2027, making it essential that the data within it is correct and complete.
Citizens are urged to check their data in the Central Population Register via the e-Citizens system. The same information can also be verified in person at the relevant branch of the Tax Administration (Porezna uprava). This allows citizens to see what data is held on them in the register and whether it is accurate.
In addition to verification, citizens are encouraged to supplement any data that is not automatically retrieved from official records as needed. Accurate and up-to-date data thus contributes to the quality of the register, as well as to the more effective development of digital public services and the realisation of citizens' rights.
Further information on the Central Population Register, including how to register and verify data, is available on the website https://registar-stanovnistva.gov.hr/.
