Mayor of Mursko Središće Dražen Srpak held a meeting with the leadership of the Međimurje Student Association, during which the continuation of cooperation and city support for the association's upcoming projects was agreed. The meeting was attended, alongside the mayor, by Timon Kozar, president of the Međimurje Student Association, and Stela Horvat, vice-president.
Association representatives briefed the mayor on the organisation's work, past activities and plans for the coming period. The Međimurje Student Association brings together young people from Međimurje who are studying in Zagreb, with the aim of connecting students, fostering a sense of community and maintaining the link between young people and their home region. Through social, educational, sports and humanitarian activities, the association seeks to represent Međimurje, its values and traditions, while providing support to future students.
Plans for 2027 were presented at the meeting, including the organisation of the traditional Međimurje Fest, the "Kam na faks?" project, the "040 RUN" sports race, the "Upoznajmo Međimurje" excursion, as well as humanitarian and other activities. The goal is to further engage young people and increase the number of association members through these activities.
Mayor Dražen Srpak praised the commitment, enthusiasm and desire of the association's members to contribute to the community through their work. He emphasised the importance of supporting young people who, through their initiatives, maintain their connection to Međimurje and actively work to promote it.
The City of Mursko Središće will provide financial and logistical support to the activities and projects of the Međimurje Student Association, in line with its capabilities. Association representatives presented the mayor with a letter of appreciation for past support and cooperation.
