The town of Glina is hosting the second edition of the "Teatar i tanjur" (Theatre and Plate) event, a cultural-gastronomic initiative that combines stage art with gastronomy. The programme is scheduled from today until the end of the current week, specifically through Sunday, with activities taking place across several different locations in the town. Access to all planned content is free and does not require prior reservation or tickets.
The official opening of the festival is scheduled for tonight, starting at 20:00. The first event will take place in an outdoor space, in the courtyard of the House of the Croatian Anthem. The honour of opening the event falls to musicians Mario Zbiljski and Konstantin Krasnitski, who will perform a classical music concert. The performance will be based on a combination of tambura and piano sounds, immediately highlighting the blend of traditional and artistic expression at the outset.
The programme peak follows on Friday, when the first acting performances are scheduled. The youngest audience is in for a children's play, "Kuhari" (Chefs), while the evening part of the programme will be dedicated to adults. Dražen Šivak will perform the play "Maske" (Masks) on Friday evening, continuing the rich theatre offering of the event.
Saturday brings a continuation of the theatre programme with the performance of "Umišljena mišica" (The Imaginary Invalid). On Saturday, Glina will also be visited by the Kerekesh Theatre, which is guesting with the play "Ja, trudnica" (I, the Pregnant Woman). These performances further enrich the diversity of stage works that the audience will be able to watch during the festival.
Sunday is the final day of the "Teatar i tanjur" festival. The final day's programme is tailored for a wider audience, with content available for both children and adults. The event thus concludes a week filled with free theatre plays, musical performances, and content for the youngest, confirming its role as an important cultural event in the town.
