Goran Bare, the singer and songwriter, has died at the age of 62. His body was found at his flat around 13:00 today, the information was reported by Večernji list, citing members of the band, Marija Rašić and Alen Tibljaš.
Bare was born on 16 August 1965 in Vinkovci, and was the frontman of the group Majke. Over the course of more than four decades, he developed a distinctive musical style that has defined the local rock scene. His musical legacy includes the songs 'Vreme je da se krene', 'Budi ponosan', 'Put ka sreći' and 'Teške boje', as well as 'Meni ne interesuje'.
Rašić and Tibljaš stated that in the last five years they had tried to persuade him to undergo treatment for his health problems, but without success. The band issued a statement following his death, confirming the tragic news.
At the end of September, Bare fell ill during a performance in Makarska, leading to the concert being cut short after the first song. Following the incident, the band announced a two-month break to allow the singer to rest and recover.
Goran Bare is remembered as one of the most charismatic frontmen in the regional music scene, whose lyrics and stage presence shaped generations of listeners.
