A final farewell to Mate Miša Kovač was held at Poljud in Split, where attendees sang his hit "Svi pjevaju, ja ne čujem" (Everyone sings, I don't hear). Many citizens switched on their mobile phone lights, so that thousands of lights illuminated Poljud, while torches also appeared on parts of the stands.

The farewell was organised by the City of Split, HNK Hajduk and the Croatian Music Union. Entry to the stadium was scheduled to open at 16:00, and the start of the programme was expected at 17:00. The programme then began, and the entire stadium chanted Miša Kovač's name.

At the start, Alen Nižetić sang "Ja ne mogu drugo nego da ga volin" (I can do nothing but love him), and Dražen Zečić performed "Ti si pjesma moje duše" (You are the song of my soul). Klapa Hrvatske ratne mornarice (Croatian Navy Klapa) sang "Proplakat će zora" (The dawn will weep), Giuliano performed "Malo mi je jedan život s tobom" (One life with you is not enough), and Mladen Grdović sang "Sutra mi sude" (Tomorrow they judge me). Alen Nižetić climbed onto the Poljud stage and sang Miša's "Ako me ostaviš" (If you leave me), while Jole sang "Noćas ćemo zemlji ko materi reći" (Tonight we will tell the earth, like a mother).

Miša's songs, together with the audience, will be sung by his friends Giuliano, Klapa Rišpet, Dražen Zečić, Mladen Grdović, Joško Čagalj Jole and Alen Nižetić. The musical programme will last around 45 minutes, after which the hearse will make a circuit around the football pitch.

Miša Kovač's funeral will be held on Wednesday at Mirogoj, and only within the circle of family. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković took his seat at Poljud stadium, and told RTL that the atmosphere at Poljud was phenomenal. He also said that Miša Kovač was the singer who sold the most records and that Miša Kovač not only lives on, he is part of our identity.
