The international project "Julije Adamović Days 2027" was presented at the Ilok City Museum. Its aim is to research, preserve and bring the life and work of Julije Adamović closer to the wider public. The project is led by the Croatian Academic Society in Subotica, with co-organisers being the Croatian Cultural and Educational Society "Tomislav" in Golubinci and the Croatian Cultural and Educational Society "Matija Gubec" in Ruma.

The project is dedicated to Julije Adamović (1857 – 1940), a Croatian linguist, Romanist, translator, lexicographer and university lecturer from Golubinci in Srijem. He taught French at the University of Zagreb for more than three decades, and among the recognitions for his work, the French Legion of Honour stands out. He was also a founder of the French cultural circle Cercle Français, and at the University of Zagreb he worked for 37 years as a French language lecturer and reader. He died in 1940.

Project initiator Andrija Matić, president of the association "Duhovno hrašće Naše Gospe Šumanovačke", pointed out that Adamović is today almost forgotten. Mato Groznica, president of the Croatian Academic Society, emphasised that the project's ambition is to grow into a permanent platform for scientific dialogue, publishing and cross-border cooperation. Igor Gašparović from the HKPD "Tomislav" highlighted the importance of connecting Adamović's legacy with the local community and bringing his work closer to young people, while Nikola Jurca from the HKPD "Matija Gubec" announced a programme in Ruma that will link European musical tradition and cultural heritage.

Srijem Bishop Mons. Fabijan Svalina emphasised the need to view the life and work of Julije Adamović in a broader historical and European context. Project coordinator Darko Puharić presented the research conducted so far on Adamović's biography, and newly discovered archival data confirm the importance of systematically researching his legacy.

The central event will take place in spring 2027, when Ilok, Golubinci and Ruma will host a three-day international cultural and scientific manifestation. A scientific conference is planned in Ilok, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and educational content for young people in Golubinci, while Ruma will host a musical programme, a philatelic exhibition and other cultural content.

The production of an extensive biography of Adamović, the establishment of a digital archive of his works and documents, and the filming of a documentary are planned. There is also the possibility of cooperation with Croatian Radio Television.
