The board of the Zadar Concert Office has officially proposed that the mayor of Zadar, Šime Erlić, appoint Ivan Škalić to the position of director. Prior to submitting this proposal, a public tender for the selection of the director was conducted, in accordance with regulations, ensuring a transparent appointment process. The mayor accepted the board's proposal, thereby formally opening the path for Škalić to assume the new role.

Ivan Škalić was born in 1979 in Zadar, though his origins are on the island of Rab. He began his education in his hometown, where he completed his secondary education at the Franjo Petrić Gymnasium. Following secondary education, he continued his studies in music, enrolling at the Academy of Music in Zagreb, specifically in its branch in Rijeka.

At the academy, Škali specialised in solo singing, which became the foundation of his professional career. Through his studies, he obtained high academic qualifications, first graduating with a degree in solo singing, and later achieving the title of Master of Music. His professional development culminated in the academic title of Univ. Mag. Mus., which he now holds as a testament to his professional competence.

With his appointment to the director's post, Škali will take the helm of one of the key cultural institutions in Dalmatia. His musical education and understanding of the local context, given that he was born and educated in Zadar, are likely to be significant factors in the further development of the programme at the Concert Office.
