The ground floor of the Grad Library has seen the opening of the exhibition 'Po Grad' by the painter Mišo Baričević. The installation features acrylics on canvas in various formats and can be viewed until the end of September.
Born in 1951 within the walls of Dubrovnik, in the district of Sveta Marija, Mišo Baričević belongs to the generation of artists continuing the tradition of Dubrovnik’s colourist painting. After secondary school, he intended to enroll in an academy of fine arts, but only later did he devote himself to painting, encouraged by the support of the Dubrovnik artists Josip Pin Trošman and Ivo Dulčić.
His first exhibition was dominated by city motifs and the roofs of Dubrovnik in large formats. He was admitted to the Croatian Association of Fine Artists, and also works with relief sculpture and stage design. He has gained long-term experience working at the Marina Držić Theatre, and has exhibited large triptychs in collaboration with the Dubrovnik artists Josip Škerl and Loren Ligorij. In his oeuvre, an important place is occupied by sacred works, among which the Way of the Cross in the cathedral stands out.
On 18 September, an exhibition of paintings titled 'Koluri Grada' was opened in the palace in Belišće. The installation presented the works of five Dubrovnik artists: Mišo Baričević, Robert Kral, Romana Milutin Fabris, Josip Škerl, and Josip Pin Trošman. The exhibition featured fifty works of art.
The exhibition 'Koluri Grada' was officially opened by the mayor of Belišće, Ivana Jerbić. The installation will remain open until 6 November and can be viewed in the palace in Belišće.
