The Zemunik Summer Evenings programme will be enriched on Friday, 7 August 2026 with the multimedia exhibition Waterfronts. The opening will take place at 21:00 in the square in Zemunik Doni, where visitors will have the opportunity to see works created as part of the international Waterfronts project. The works developed concurrently during an artistic residency in Bibinje are now being presented to a wider audience in a new context.
The exhibition features two key artistic achievements by Kristina and Anđela Bugarija. The first is the dance film I’mprint by Anđela Bugarija, consisting of three dance miniatures. The miniatures are titled Eco-anxiety, Echoes of the Deep and The Unseen. Anđela Bugarija is responsible for the concept, script and choreography of this project, while Matija Lukman handled direction, camera work and visual design.
Dancers Gendis Putri Kartini, Kristina Lisica and Nataša Kustura appear in the dance film I’mprint as movement creators and performers. Vedran Kastrapeli realised the editing and visual effects, and the film uses authentic underwater footage by Đani Iglić. These specific visual elements contribute to the unique atmosphere of the work, connecting movement with the underwater world.
The second part of the exhibition is the painting cycle Morske priče (Sea Stories) by Kristina Bugarija. The cycle includes works titled Sunčani dan (Sunny Day), Plimni val (Tidal Wave) and Morski grad (Sea City). These works complement the dance film, creating a complete artistic narrative that explores the relationship between humans and the sea through different media.
This presentation is part of the broader cultural programme of Zemunik Summer Evenings, which traditionally gathers visitors in public spaces. The Waterfronts exhibition thus represents a fusion of visual art, dance and film language, offering a multi-layered experience for the audience gathering in the Zemunik square in early August.
