Forest Green have given manager Robbie Savage permission to speak with other clubs, as links link him to the vacant manager role at Peterborough United. Savage will not be on the bench for Tuesday night's home game against Wealdstone.
S Savage was asked on Saturday if he had had any contact from Peterborough. He did not deny the speculation, but said he did not know if there had been contact from the club. "I don't know, I've got a game to prepare for and I'm really excited to watch my team," he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
S Savage is a former Wales international and is 51 years old. He played as a midfielder for clubs including Derby County, Birmingham City, Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers. At Forest Green, he was appointed on 1 July 2025, having previously managed non-league Macclesfield Town.
Last season, Savage led Forest Green to seventh place in the table, but the club were defeated in the play-off eliminations. This season, Forest are 12th after 10 games, with four wins, two draws and four defeats.
Peter are looking for a new manager after sacking Luke Williams on 19 September following a poor start to the season. The club are currently 23rd in League One with one win from eight league games.
