Beau Greaves won the Women's World Matchplay in Blackpool, securing her third title at the prestigious event in four years. The 20-year-old from Doncaster, who was the top seed entering the tournament, defeated Fallon Sherrence 6-5 in the final.
The outcome was decided in the final set, which was highly tense. Sherrock threw a maximum 180, but Greaves responded with an identical score, demonstrating the composure required in such critical moments.
Greaves had previously set up a 145 checkout, which allowed her to secure the victory. She completed the match by finishing on 56, ensuring the title. Although she allowed her opponent to close the gap from 5-3 to 5-5, she maintained her focus until the end.
The path to the final was not without challenges. Although she progressed through the quarter-finals without major issues, she faced significant resistance in the semi-finals. Gemma Hayter pushed Greaves to a deciding set, marking one of the few tense moments for the favourite throughout the tournament.
