Driver Miko Marczyk set a new world record in distance driven by an electric vehicle on a single charge. In the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron Performance, he managed 1,338 kilometres, surpassing the 2025 record set by the Lucid Air Grand Touring, which covered 1,205 kilometres.
The feat was achieved on public roads in Poland, in regular traffic. The vehicle's official range is between 681 and 776 kilometres, meaning the driver managed to travel almost double the factory-declared range. The attempt began in the town of Zakopane, with the mountain slopes of the Tatra Mountains providing an opportunity to make maximum use of regenerative braking.
The route led towards Kraków, then along the Vistula river valley to Sandomierz. Marczyk passed through towns such as Warsaw, Toruń, and Gdańsk, all the way to the Hel Peninsula. At Hel, the driver turned around and began returning along the same route, with the car running out of power somewhere between Toruń and Ciechocinek. The counter then showed 1,338 kilometres driven on a single battery charge.
The attempt took place on public roads open to regular traffic, with many sections traversed during heavy traffic jams. The average speed during the journey was less than 30 kilometres per hour, and the entire journey lasted more than 45 hours. It was precisely the low speed and frequent energy regeneration in traffic that enabled such a large range.
Marczyk currently holds Guinness World Records for both internal combustion engine vehicles and fully electric vehicles. During 2025, he set the record for the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel driving a Škoda Superb, when he managed to drive 2,831 kilometres with an average fuel consumption of 2.6 litres per 100 kilometres.
