Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has begun a multi-day visit to New York, during which he is set to speak at the United Nations General Assembly next week. On the margins of the assembly, he will also participate in several international forums and meetings.
Plenković is set to speak at the General Assembly on Tuesday evening Central European Time, and will hold talks with the Secretary-General on Friday. On Monday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the ceremony for the presentation of the Croatian passport to John Ma, who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2025. On the same day, his participation is expected at the P4M summit, a partnership for multilateralism, international law, peace, and prosperity.
On Wednesday, Plenković is expected to attend the sixth summit of the Crimean Platform and the summit of the International Alliance for the Global Ocean Observing System, hosted by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyden and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. On that day, the Prime Minister is also set to speak at a round table on 'Addressing violence against women and girls through technology: from policy to collective action', hosted by Croatia in cooperation with UN Women.
The opening of the Croatia-United States business forum and the working meeting of the Europe-India forum are scheduled for Thursday. Plenković's bilateral meetings are also planned with the prime ministers of Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Moldova, with the Chilean president, with Apple CEO Tim Cook, and with the president of the World Jewish Congress, Ronald Lauder. The Prime Minister is also set to meet with the Croatian community in New York.
On the margins of the General Assembly, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman is also present, with a scheduled participation in the working meeting of the signatory states of the Adriatic Charter (A5). He is also expected to attend the second ministerial meeting of MED9++, focused on the Strait of Hormuz, the ministerial meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission, and a quadrilateral meeting with colleagues from Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania.
