HMNK Rijeka will play the semi-final of the HMNL Super Cup against Novy Vremena today at 17:00. The match is broadcast on MaxSport 2.

The Rijeka side reached the semi-finals by defeating Osijek in the quarter-finals after a 6-5 penalty shootout, following a 4-4 draw. The current runners-up and cup winners were waiting for the winner of that tie.

In the other semi-final, Olissum, the champions and hosts of the final tournament, face Dinamo. Dinamo were better than Torcida 6-2 in the quarter-final.

The captain and pivot of the Rijeka team is Luka Suton. His brother Josip left Italy this summer and settled in Osijek, but the Sutons will not face a sibling derby this weekend. The match in the championship is scheduled for 9 October.

The new addition to the team is the Brazilian Savio, who replaced Fatic. 'We have ten standard players plus two younger players,' the team stated. Kamuli has minor knee problems and will not be available for the Super Cup.

The final is scheduled for Monday at 19:00, with the match for third place taking place three hours earlier. Rijeka's first round in the championship features a derby against Hajduk.
