Seventeen women’s crews will compete at the 13th Ladies’ Boat Marathon, which will be rowed on Thursday 6 August from Metković to Opuzen, the City of Metković announced after the closing of entries.
The race start is at 18.30 under the Port Bridge in Metković, and the crews have a 10 kilometre downstream course to Opuzen. Among the entrants are four debutant teams making their first attempt at rowing a Neretva boat, alongside experienced crews that have participated in the competition for years.
The title of winner for the last four years has been claimed by the Sisak Ladies’ Boat Association. The course record is still held by the Donje Donjanke team, who completed the Metković to Opuzen stretch in 50 minutes and 33 seconds in 2020.
Fans of boat racing can expect a new edition of the competition at the beginning of August, where crews will compete for the best placement on the Neretva route.
