The Serbian forward Dušan Vlahović is on the verge of a move to Beşiktaş. The Turkish club has reached an agreement with the 26-year-old player, who is set to continue his career in Istanbul after undergoing medical examinations. Provided there are no unforeseen health complications, Vlahović will sign a three-year contract with the Turkish side.

The free agent status is a key factor in this transfer, as Vlahović’s contract with Italian side Juventus expired this summer. As Beşiktaş does not need to pay a transfer fee, the club can direct funds that would otherwise have gone to a transfer fee directly to the player in the form of a higher salary and bonuses. This financial model, where a player is signed without a fee, is common practice.

According to reports from the Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Beşiktaş has prepared a highly lucrative package for the forward. Vlahović’s annual salary would be €10 million, which over the three-year contract amounts to €30 million. In addition, the contract includes a one-off signing bonus of €10 million.

The total value of the package for Dušan Vlahović reaches €40 million. This means the average annual value of the contract exceeds €13 million. This financial structure allows the player to earn a maximum income without the club being burdened by long-term transfer obligations to other clubs.

Vlahović joined Juventus in January 2022 from Fiorentina, for which the Turin-based club paid a significant sum at the time. The club’s plan was for the Serbian forward to be a key figure in the attack, but his time in Turin was marked by injuries, managerial changes, and inconsistent results for the team.
