The second team of ŽOK Kaštel took part on Sunday, 27 September, in the 7th memorial tournament 'Željko Sović – Sova' in Lepoglava. The tournament is held in the hall of the Osnovna škola Lepoglava (Lepoglava Primary School) and brings together young volleyball teams from the region.
The newly formed team of Kaštel entered the competition day very convincingly. In the first match, the Kaštel women defeated the team of ŽOK Toplice with a clean 2:0 in sets. The match was played at 10:00, and both matches of the tournament are played to two sets won.
In the second match of the day, a tense duel followed against the team of ŽOK Ivanec 3. This match, which started at 11:00, went to the side of Ivanec with a result of 2:1 after three sets. The young team of Ivanec 3 comes from Pribislavac.
Despite the defeat in the second match, the appearance at the tournament in Lepoglava was part of the preparation for the continuation of the season. The rhythm of preparation continues on Tuesday, when the women of Kaštel are expected to face a friendly match in Varaždin.
The 'Željko Sović – Sova' tournament is the seventh edition of the memorial competition held traditionally in Lepoglava, and this year it brought together teams from several clubs. For the second team of ŽOK Kaštel, this was one of the first serious tests in the preparatory period.
