The arrest was made near Trump National Los Angeles, where the man was apprehended with a pistol and illegal ammunition. Federal agents in plain clothes reported Taele as a person of interest, prompting intervention by local authorities.
During a search of the vehicle, a full-sized pistol and a magazine with hollow-point ammunition, known as hollow point, were found. Taele was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited hollow-point bullets. His behaviour at the location attracted attention as he was taking photos and videos of the golf course.
Sources indicate that Taele was allegedly monitoring security-related activities in the area. His presence and documentation of the location raised concerns among security personnel deployed to protect the venue. The arrest occurred as security forces were on high alert on the grounds.
In addition to weapons-related charges, Taele was wanted in connection with a robbery being investigated by the El Segundo police. The robbery took place approximately 25 miles from Rancho Palos Verdes. It is believed that the man was linked to the crime, which has further complicated his case.
