Reporters from Radar magazine and Nova S portal, Milan Radonjić and Vuk Z. Cvijić, have uncovered previously hidden communications which, they claim, reveal deals between the Šarić clan and authorities in Serbia. The material consists of exchanges between Darko Šarić and his associates via Sky, concerning conversations with top-level officials and people close to them.
According to Radar and Nova S, a new indictment against Šarić concerning an attempt to discredit witness collaborators mentions the nicknames Oskar, Edo and Marko, Markus or Markos. Behind these nicknames, they allege, sit former president Aleksandar Vučić, then-minister of police Nebojša Stefanović and at the time a senior BIA (Security Agency) official Marko Parezanović. The communications also reference individuals addressed as $ (Dollar) and Nikola P.
In an intercepted communication of 1 June 2020 between Darko Šarić, then in custody, and his key associate Bojan Stanojković, Oskar is also referred to as Čvarak. Stanojković then informs Šarić of a conversation between entrepreneur Uliks (Ulx) and Čvarak. Stanojković writes to Šarić: "Čvarak says – I told you he would not serve more than 10 and that is how it will be, he says I never promised you an electronic bracelet so don't ask me about it. They will be released for laundering and their property will be returned… He says that if something goes wrong with the judges and the sentence, I give you my word that I will fix it with a pardon, so let it cost me three months of interrogation."
Duško Šarić wrote to his brother in prison on 20 May 2020: "I'll probably see Oskar's brother now, he wants to see that I give him these two thousand votes. A man called me today and said he wants to meet." On 20 November 2020 Šarić sent a message to an unidentified interlocutor: "I gave them the first money for the party, I'll f*** their mother, and that was 2.1 million, but through Ulx. That was when they were still coming down to Uliz in CG. Liar, everything is a lie. Only Ulx can do something about it now with what he has, and the others can help a little." According to the journalists, these communications point to close cooperation and ties between the SNS (Serbian Progressive Party) leadership and the drug cartel, and the Sky messages suggest, among other things, that Šarić was one of the financiers of SNS.
In previously unknown correspondence, it is confirmed, they allege, that there was an agreement on the terms of Šarić's surrender in March 2014 for two then-ongoent cases – smuggling nearly six tonnes of cocaine and money laundering. The terms provided for a 10-year sentence, release from the money laundering charge and the return of part of the seized property. Already in 2014, all those in the police and BIA who were leading the case against Šarić were dismissed, including even investigating judge Dragan Lazarević, who had approved secret surveillance and tracking measures. Šarić was released to house arrest on 24 December 2021 with an electronic bracelet. He was arrested on 14 April 2022 thanks to Sky communications that came through international legal assistance, at the villa of his friend Nikola Peković, a former basketball player. The arrest was delayed by several hours because the police did not immediately act on the instruction of the Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office.
Thanks to the obtained Sky correspondence, two new proceedings have been launched against Šarić. The first concerns an attempt to discredit witness collaborators, and the second is the one in which Šarić is the primary accused alongside Veljko Belivuk for four murders of members of the opposing Škaljari gang in Greece. Chief TOK (Special Prosecutor's Office) prosecutor Mladen Nenadić said at the Law Faculty at the end of 2025 that the police do not forward Sky communications to the prosecutor's office. Nenadić said that Europol delivers Sky material only to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and not to the prosecutor's office, and noted that if the MUP does not deliver parts of the communications, the prosecutor's office remains deprived of key evidence. He added that "the MUP refuses to deliver data from Sky intercepts that sitting prosecutors request, or instead deliberately sends data that has no connection whatsoever to the prosecutor's office's specific requests, thereby cluttering and discrediting the investigation with unnecessary data."
In a correspondence of 25 May 2020, Bojan Stanojković informs Šarić of an e-mail that Uliks sent to Dollar, in which the agreed terms of Šarić's surrender are described in detail. The fact that the message was sent by e-mail alone caused heated reactions, and Stanojković soon sent Šarić, via Sky, photographs of Uliks's e-mail.
