Factories in European countries producing weapons for Ukraine are potential military targets for Russia, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian foreign ministry, said on Wednesday. At a press conference, she stated that military factories outside Ukrainian territory producing weapons for the regime in Kyiv should not be considered safe.
"Anyone who thinks otherwise is mistaken," Zakharova said, responding to a question about Poland's readiness to build a factory for producing interceptor missiles for the Patriot system on its territory.
Zakharova stated that European countries are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine. In her view, by opening weapon factories and investing jointly, they are fully involved in the conflict.
She added that such activities delay the resolution of the conflict rather than helping it, as some forces in Europe believe or imagine.
On the other hand, NATO and many European countries have stated that they will continue to support Ukraine, helping it to push back Russian forces and continue to shoot down Russian drones and missiles.
