The heatwave has recently swept across Croatia, causing significant temperature rises across much of the country. These weather conditions are not only affecting the human population, but are also placing pressure on local wildlife, which is struggling to adapt to the new circumstances.
One unusual sight was recorded on the island of Krk, where the behaviour of a deer caught the public's attention. The animal entered the sea near St. Baška, a rare occurrence given that deer typically avoid deep water.
The footage of the incident was posted on the K3 channel, where it prompted reactions from viewers who had witnessed the unusual scene. The video clearly shows the deer moving through the water, which is contrary to the usual habits of the species.
The reason the deer entered the sea is attributed to the high temperatures caused by the current heatwave. The animal was likely seeking a way to cool down or find moisture, a challenge for all living creatures in the area in such extreme weather conditions.
