Luka Split d.d. has donated two sets of breathing apparatus, complete with backpacks, lung pumps, masks and pressure cylinders, as well as a fire hose nozzle, to the Gata Volunteer Fire Department (DVD Gata). The donation is intended to ensure safer working conditions for firefighters who participated in extinguishing fires in the Omiš area.
Firefighters from DVD Gata took part in fighting the Brač wildfires for 7 days, working through 12 shifts. A total of 18 firefighters from the society were engaged in these interventions, accumulating over 600 working hours.
From Luka Split, it was stated that the equipment donated to DVD Gata will protect them during future interventions. This, they say, continues support for those who were exposed to direct risks on the ground during the prolonged firefighting efforts on Brač.
Luka Split also highlighted its ties to the Omiš region through colleagues who live there, their families and business partners. This connection, they note, was an additional reason for the donation to the fire society from Gata.
The donated equipment covers protective and operational firefighting gear — breathing apparatus with accompanying equipment and a fire hose nozzle — which, according to the statement, aims to ensure safer work for firefighters on future tasks.
