Mak will mark Navy Day on 18 September, with the main event being a visit by the ship. The vessel DBS Krka will enter the port, where it will be open to the public to view throughout the day. Visitors will be able to view the ship in two sessions, from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, allowing a wide range of people to become familiar with these maritime guardians.
The celebration will begin with a ceremonial part at 08:45, when a wre-laying will take place. Representatives of the City of Mak and the Croatian Navy will participate, laying wreaths at a memorial plaque dedicated to the naval battle of Mak. Following this, a wre-laying will take place at sea, as a tribute to all fallen Croatian sailors, honouring the victims of maritime history.
In addition to the ceremonial aspects, the programme includes cultural events. The evening part begins at 18:30, with a culinary duel led by chef Antonio Brajković, alongside local chefs. At 19:30, a procession of pirates and Venetians will walk through the town, adding a historical touch to the celebration. At 20:00, a maritime battle titled 'Mucules 887 – Stories from the Sea' will be staged, offering visitors a unique experience of historical context.
As part of the celebration, from 17 to 18 September, from 9:00 to 14:00, the exhibition by the Leut Sailing Club will be open in the Town Hall. The programme continues on 26 and 27 September, when the 31st Croatian Navy Regatta will be held, organised by the Bura Sailing Club, marking the rich maritime tradition of Mak.
