Pupils from the first to third grades of Mljet Primary School – Goveđari Branch attended the bird ringing event in Mljet National Park on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, during the morning.

Bird ringing in Mljet National Park is conducted regularly every autumn as part of monitoring. This activity follows a set schedule in the area, and the youngest pupils from within the park’s vicinity were present at this year’s event.

Research as part of the bird monitoring for species significant to Mljet National Park is carried out by Dr Luka Jurinović, MSc Biol. His work involves tracking bird species that are important for this protected area.

The participation of pupils from Goveđari Branch School is part of the regular annual autumn bird ringing held in the park. This allows the pupils to become directly acquainted with the bird monitoring activities taking place in their immediate environment.
