The Croatian Hunting Association is organising the fifth edition of the "Rika Fest" event, which will take place on Saturday in Delnice. The programme begins at 10:00, with the entire event held in King Tomislav Park. This traditional hunting gathering attracts competitors and numerous visitors from various parts of Croatia each year, confirming its significance within the hunting community.
The central part of the programme is the national championship in imitating the stag's roar, a competition requiring a high level of skill and knowledge of hunting traditions. Additionally, visitors will be able to attend a hunting dog showcase, offering an opportunity to observe the skills of these faithful helpers in the hunt. Special emphasis is also placed on the musical component of the event through the holding of a hunting hornist showcase, where performers will present the rich tradition of hunting music to the audience.
The programme is enriched with practical activities such as a hunting kotlić stew cooking competition, where the art of preparing this traditional dish will be demonstrated. Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy a presentation of falconry, the ancient art of hunting birds of prey, which is maintained as part of the cultural heritage. These activities together create a comprehensive picture of hunting culture and tradition.
The event concludes with a fair of domestic products, handicrafts, and hunting equipment. The fair will feature various products reflecting local production and craftsmanship, providing visitors with the opportunity to purchase authentic items.
