Officers from the Pag Police Station conducted a criminal investigation into two Croatian nationals, aged 20 and 22, who were arrested yesterday morning for disturbing the peace during the night hours in the Pag area. Both were brought before the competent municipal court, where they were questioned with a formal charge proposal.

According to the facts, the incident occurred on 18 August at around 2.30 am in the town of Pag. At that time, the suspects attacked a 21-year-old Serbian citizen. The assault was both verbal and physical, and the victim sustained minor injuries. Police state that the attack was carried out under the influence of alcohol and that its character was described as brazen and indecent.

A particular detail of the investigation concerns the behaviour of the 20-year-old suspect, who during the incident insulted the victim on the basis of his national origin. Such behaviour constitutes an offence under the Anti-Discrimination Act, which is an aggravating circumstance in this case.

Following the questioning, the court made a decision on the detention measure. Detention for a period of 10 days was imposed on the 20-year-old suspect, after which he was handed over to prison. For the 22-year-old suspect, according to available data, no identical detention measure was specified at this time.
