The play Balloon over Cappadocia will be staged at Ribnjak Stage on October 9 at 18:00, and the Zagreb audience will have the chance to see it for the first time. The production is by the Branko Mihaljević Children's Theatre from Osijek, which is coming to Zagreb as part of the Dependent on Independent programme.

The play is three-time award-winning. At the 19th festival of Croatian drama for children, Mali Marulić, held in 2026 in Split, it won three awards. The author and director, Tamara Kučinović, received the Award for Best Original Drama Text and the Award for Best Direction, while the award for Best Male Role went to Gordan Marijanović for his role in this play.

The play speaks of loneliness and the liberation of the same. Tamara Kučinović is responsible for the text and direction, with Goran Guksić handling dramaturgy and choreography, Volha Milovič the set design and puppets, and Marko Lucijan Hraščanec the music. The lighting design is by Igor Elek and Tamara Kučinović.

The play features Areta Ćurković in the role of Mile and Gordan Marijanović in the role of Sreće. During the Dependent on Independent programme, ticket prices for children's plays are reduced, so the ticket price is now 5 €. Tickets can be purchased at https://scenaribnjak.com/raspored/.
