On Sunday, 27 September, starting at 14:00, a book launch for 'Robert Prosinečki – The Great Yellow' will take place in the hall at Gripa, as part of the Mediterranean Book Festival. The book is an authorized biography of one of the greatest Croatian footballers of all time.
The book was written by sports journalist and football chronicler Dražen Krušelj, a journalist for Jutarnji list. Krušelj was named sports journalist of the year in the selection by the Croatian Association of Sports Journalists, further confirming his status as one of the leading observers of domestic sport.
Speaking at the launch, alongside the author Krušelj and editor Josip Ivanović, will be Robert Prosinečki, the main subject of the book. His participation lends special weight to the event, as attendees will have the opportunity to hear first-hand details of the career of one of Croatia's most famous footballers.
Prosinečki played for Real Madrid and Barcelona, the two largest Spanish clubs, during his playing career, placing him among the few Croatian footballers to have worn the kits of both giants.
A special place in his career is occupied by his performances at the World Cup. Prosinečki was one of the few players to score for two different national teams at the World Cup – for Yugoslavia in 1990 and for Croatia, for which he scored two goals in 1998.
The launch at the Mediterranean Book Festival provides an opportunity for football and literature enthusiasts to meet the story of a sportsman whose career has shaped modern Croatian sports history.
