The Novak Center for Culture and Events is preparing a rich programme in October, featuring regular film screenings, two film cycles, theatre performances, and children's activities, including those organised in celebration of Children's Week.

On Fridays, the Family Cinema Day will take place, featuring animated films dubbed in Croatian, with screenings starting at 7 pm. On 2 October, the film Crystal Planet will be shown, on 9 October Vau Vau Star 3: Battle of the Bands is scheduled, on 16 October Tea the Tiger follows, on 23 October Janko Strižić Film: Pumpkin Chaos, and on 30 October The Forgotten Island.

Saturday screenings begin at 8 pm. On 3 October, the comedy Spa Weekend was shown, on 10 October the action adventure Heart of the Beast follows, on 17 October the horror Resident Evil, on 24 October the action film Street Fighter, and on 31 October the thriller Digger.

From 20 to 22 October, the film cycle Golden Pulsa will take place, featuring titles awarded at this year's Pula Film Festival, with screenings starting at 8 pm. The cycle opens on 20 October with the film Ida, Who Sang So Badly That Even the Dead Rose and Sang with Her by director Ester Ivakić, which was awarded the Golden Arena in the regional category. On 21 October, the documentary The Thing to Do by Srđan Kovačević will be shown, the winner of the Golden Gate award by the public, and the cycle concludes on 22 October with the film Koke by Igor Jelinović, which won the Golden Arena for best film, as well as Golden Arenas for best screenplay, best female lead, and best supporting female role, as well as the Cinema Network Award for best Croatian film. Entry to the first two screenings of the Golden Pulsa cycle is free.

The second mini-cycle is dedicated to World Audiovisual Heritage Day and classic Croatian cinema from the Yugoslav era. The film H-8 from 1958 will be shown on 26 October at 8 pm, in the year marking the centenary of the birth of its director, Nikola Tanhofer. On 27 October at 7 pm, Train in the Snow by Mate Relja from 1976 will be screened, marking 50 years since its creation. Entry to both screenings of the second mini-cycle is free.

The theatre programme begins on 5 October at 6 pm with the play Tortoise and the Hare by the Pulsa Theatre, organised as part of Children's Week, with free entry. On 8 October at 8 pm, Old School Crek: From Darkness to Light by Marina Ivanović Stoke will be presented, while on 29 October at 7 pm the Lectirum Theatre Group will perform the comedy The Rivals, in which Ksenija Pajić, Natalija Đorđević, and Marko Ceuza star.

For children, on 10 October from 10:00 to approximately 14:00, a creative animation programme called The Secrets of Novigrad's Bat is prepared, which includes a workshop, a treasure hunt, and an introduction to the local fishing heritage. It is intended for children aged five and above, with free participation upon prior registration at [email protected]. The registration requires the child's first and last name, age, and a contact telephone number of one of the parents or guardians. Tickets for paid events can be purchased online or at the CMIK box office one hour before the start of the programme.
