The photobook Tragovi uspomena (Traces of Memory) by Kristina Kovačević was presented at the local cultural centre in Novska. The event was organised by the local branch of the Hrvatska Matica (Croatian Society) as part of the 'Font of Words' project, with the monograph published within the framework of this initiative.

Kristina Kvačević, along with her brother, owns one of the longest-standing family photography studios in the town. The monograph, dedicated to her late mother, marks three decades of her professional career. The author described the book as 'conceived as another meeting with the photographer, but from a different perspective, a sort of exchange of senses without a camera lens'.

The value of the monograph and the photographs preserved within it was highlighted by Miro Gavran, one of the most well-known local natives. He noted that the book, in addition to being a chronicle of bygone times, serves as a unique homage to a photographic family. The editor of the monograph is Professor Vjekoslav Bagarić, while the president of the local branch is Zrinko Kapetanović.

The event was attended by Ivan Jelančić, a retired teacher of visual arts, who spoke about the value of photography through history, while Kristina's long-time friend, the director of the elementary school, also participated. A special musical note was provided by her son, Tibor Kovačević, and the renowned artist Ana Rucner.

The author has been documenting numerous cultural events, creating a personal yet unique archive of the town. A small selection from this archive has found its place in the 'album' Tragovi uspomena (Traces of Memory). The presentation of the photobook is expected to take place at the local cultural centre in Novska on Tuesday, 6 October, starting at 18:00. Joined by the author and editor, Vesna Bagarić, the evening filled with photography, music, and verse will be enriched by Ana Rucner and Zrinko Kapetanović.
