Bjelovar Hospital 'Dr. Anđelko Višić' is celebrating World Physiotherapy Day on 8 September with new spatial capacities. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has expanded its working spaces, thereby creating a better working environment for staff and patients.

Previously, the department operated in a smaller space of 250 square metres. Given that approximately 350 patients pass through the facility daily, there was a need for more adequate working conditions. The current, newly renovated spaces are significantly larger, with a total area of 700 square metres. This change allows for a more pleasant stay and higher quality care for patients.

In addition to spatial improvements, the key aspect of treatment remains focused on specific health needs. The theme of this year's World Physiotherapy Day highlights the role of physiotherapy in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. This focus reflects current trends in medicine, where particular attention is paid to prevention and recovery following serious health conditions.

Physiotherapy plays a key role in recovery, particularly for people who have suffered a stroke, helping them to re-establish motor functions. In people with cardiovascular diseases, targeted and supervised exercise can contribute to better physical function and quality of life. This approach to treatment allows patients to achieve better recovery outcomes, directly contributing to improved daily functioning and overall well-being.
