Stjepan Lukšić, a local swimmer, successfully completed his latest challenge by swimming the full circuit around the island of Brač. The demanding feat lasted ten days, during which the athlete had to contend with various natural obstacles. Lukšić faced high temperatures, large waves, and physical and mental fatigue, yet he managed to complete the course and was welcomed at Supetar port.
In addition to demonstrating exceptional endurance, Lukš recently completed the 'Brač 100K' ultramarathon, which covers 100 kilometres. These results further confirm his ability to withstand extreme exertion. The island swim was not only a sporting feat but also had a strong humanitarian dimension. The aim of the campaign was to support the More Snage Brač association.
The Brač More Snage association operates by providing support to cancer patients and their families. The funds raised during this feat are designated for financing professional psychological support. This service will be provided to anyone on the island who needs this type of support, thereby alleviating the psychological burden of the illness.
During the challenge, logistical support was provided to Luk by the fire brigade of Supetar. Their assistance was crucial for the safety and organisation of the feat. Luk's success, combining humanitarian work with top-level sporting results, attracted the attention of the local community, which welcomed him with approval at the port.
