Vedrana Hlasc, from the family farm OPG Hlasc, states that raspberry production began twenty years ago, and today their brand is well known throughout the region. OPG Hlasc is considered one of the most recognisable farms in Zaprešić and the surrounding area, the result of years of work and dedication to quality.
It all started with a plot of land inherited from her grandfather, on which corn used to grow. The decision to cultivate raspberries was made because no one in the area grew this fruit, which presented an opportunity to differentiate in the market. The raspberry was chosen because it is an interesting fruit that was rare in local production at the time.
In the beginning, the cultivation of raspberries was purely a hobby for leisure time. Over time, this hobby has grown into a serious business that requires dedication throughout the year. The complexity of production requires constant care, turning a hobby into a full-time job and main source of income.
Today, the Zaprešić raspberries brand has long since transcended local boundaries. Vedrana Hlasc admits that they did not dream that their raspberries would become known beyond Zaprešić. However, consistency in work and the uniqueness of the product have allowed them to build a stable and recognisable business in the market.
